got the message from the oxygen

no shame, originally uploaded by third uncle.

talking heads - remain in light
WATCH/crosseyed and painless

i know i should stop talking about the weather, but it's so hot out here. i'm sitting in the cool shade at bryant park with an iced lemonade to help refresh. currently feeling 107 degrees. i do like it though, it's in my makeup i think. i am island boy. i'll fetch you a coconut if you'd like.
i've been heading to museums these last couple days to look at some art and take advantage of their cooling systems. the international center of photography has a cool exhibit featuring atta kim as well as weegee's captures of new york life in the 20's - 40's. excellent displays and all worth a visit. i just got out of a screening at the american folk art museum of "jouney's into the outside" which was a series jarvis cocker made in the late 90's documenting his travels in search of "outsider architecture". when leaving howard finster's house after some friendly conversation, the two say their goodbyes and finster's parting words to cocker are, "don't get run over". wise words.
so, i'm posting a video instead of an mp3 this time around. i've been slightly obsessed with david byrne and the talking heads as of late, and i found this somewhat perplexing video that toni basil ("hey mickey you're so fine") directed for "crosseyed and painless". it's at once totally rad and totally bad.
