pj's over on the left coast now, having said goodbye to new york yesterday. although a certain sadness prevails, i know this is a change in direction that can only lead to a better and brighter way. i do wish that san francisco and new york were only a bridge lengths apart rather than a whole country's length. that way there would be no neighborhoods to miss, no seasons to miss, no 4 am closing times to miss, and most of all, no sweet friends to miss. alas.
on my way home from the airport this song from nagisa ni te came on my headphones. i have no idea what they are singing (any japanese to english translators out there?) but i imagined it to be something about sitting on the beach and staring out to sea with love and longing tugging deep within the heart.
